Join one of the choirs at TU: University Chorale, Women’s Chorus, Men’s Chorus and *Choral Society (no need to audition for this one). There is no need to be a music major, not even a music minor, to sing with us. You just need to have some previous choral experience and love for singing.
Auditions will take place during the first week of class (remaining dates):
- Thursday, August 30th
- Friday, August 31st
Auditions will be held in Dr. Sáez’s office (CA 2099) and you can sign up for a time at the door. If you are a music major, prepare a song you know well that shows off your voice. If not, choose something with which you feel comfortable (a hymn, a folk song or your voice part from a choral piece).
The first rehearsals will take place the second week of classes.
- University Chorale meets Tuesday and Thursday from 2-3:15pm – MUSA 251/451/651.001
- Women’s Chorus meets Monday and Wednesday from 2-3:15pm – MUSA 252/452/652.001
- Men’s Chorus (Stephen Holmes, director) meets Monday and Wednesday from 2:00-3:15 p.m. – MUSA 252/452/652.002
- Choral Society (non-auditioned) – Monday from 7-9:40pm – MUSA 151/351/651.101
The performance for the TU Chorale, Women’s and Men’s Choirs will be on Sunday, December 2nd at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 2nd at 7:30 p.m. for The TU Choral Society.
The repertoire will be challenging, diverse and fun so we really hope you’ll consider joining and participating in any of the choirs this year.
*If you are not a student, and would still like to sing, consider joining the Choral Society. There is no need to audition and the whole community is welcome to participate.
