Benefits Bulletin: Protect your loved ones – are your beneficiary designations up to date?

It is good practice to periodically check your beneficiary designations to ensure they reflect your intentions. It is particularly important to update these records if you have recently had a significant life change such as a marriage, birth or divorce.

If you are enrolled in a retirement plan, a supplemental retirement plan, life insurance, or accidental death & dismemberment insurance through TU and wish to update your beneficiaries on any or all of these benefits, please follow the guidelines below. Submit all beneficiary changes directly to the plan.  Please remember to keep a copy for your personal records.

Also, remember that you have to complete a separate beneficiary request for each benefit and also that you may have different beneficiaries for different benefits.

If you have any questions, please call the Benefits department at 410-704-6328
