Register for the OAI Online Edge: Blended Course Design Cohort

The OAI Online Edge: Blended Course Design Cohort begins August 7th and runs through November 12, 2018.

Over the course of a semester, faculty will work with colleagues in a blended workshop and then individually to develop their own blended course.  This experience is ideal for faculty who plan to offer a blended course in spring, summer, or fall of 2019.  It will be useful to faculty new to blended learning, or for experienced faculty who are interested in exploring new methods.

The workshop portion includes an overview of blended learning modules and a series of activities that culminate in the design of a module or unit of blended instruction and a course plan.  The workshop itself acts as a model for one implementation of blended learning, occurring mostly online, and including three (3) face-to-face meetings.

By the end of the workshop portion, you should be able to:

  • Design a blended module of instruction.
  • Choose activities, assessments, and instructional modes (online/face-to-face) that foster achievement of course objectives and match instructional goals.
  • Integrate online and face-to-face components together into a holistic blended environment.
  • Write specific, measurable learning objectives and course outcomes.
  • Provide activities and assessments that promote learner engagement.

DATES:
August 7 – October 2, 2018
Faculty will participate in a blended workshop comprised of online activities punctuated with interactive in-person sessions.
