Performance and Discussion led by Jeffrey Werbock, America’s Master of Mugham

On his third visit to Towson University, Jeffrey Werbock introduces Mugham, the indigenous classical music of Azerbaijan, part of a transnational tradition of urban music that flourishes in the cultural centers of North Africa, the Middle East, West Asia, and Central Asia, originating more than a millennium ago.
