Intersectionality of Bias and Technology & Implications

The 2018 President’s Inclusive Leadership Institute invites you to a thought provoking presentation by Antony Haynes, J.D. on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in Chesapeake 3, University Union on the topic of “Intersectionality of Bias and Technology & Implications”.  This presentation will address inherent biases in hiring, student identification forms, facial recognition software, and more!  Our goal is to bring together thought leaders and scholars in higher education to raise awareness of and provoke conversation about diversity & inclusion in all facets of higher education.

Antony Haynes is the Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives and Information Systems, Director of Cybersecurity and Privacy Law, and Assistant Professor of Law at Albany Law School in Albany, New York.  He has  extensive litigation experience in the intellectual property, securities, and criminal defense areas.   He was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he taught courses in programming, developed the Academy’s Information Assurance curriculum, and created the intercollegiate Cyber Defense Exercise.

Antony Haynes is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he was recognized as the top computer science graduate. He is also an entrepreneur who leverages his background in computer science, technology, business and the law to advise startup companies.
