Geography in the Heart of Europe: Prague, World Regional Geography (Minimester Faculty-led Study Abroad)

Study in Prague with Towson University in Minimester 2018. This program will introduce students to the key environmental, cultural, and historical processes that have helped form the modern Czech Republic.

More than 25 years after the fall of communism, Prague – the largest city and capital of the Czech Republic – is now one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations. Centrally located between east and west, the city offers students a unique opportunity to experience first-hand the way of life found in a traditional European urban area. Learn geography while exploring and enjoying the cultural, social, historical, architectural, and environmental delights of Prague. Participants will explore issues in the Czech Republic through field observation, visits to related sites, and guest lectures from local experts.

Program highlights include visits to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Český Krymlov, and cultural excursions to the Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, and to the Prague Zoo and Botanical Gardens.

This course is open to undergraduate and graduate students. TU students may receive Honors credit for their study abroad experience.
