“I see a Student Degree Plan Required hold in my Student Center. What is that and what do I need to do?” The Academic Advising Center handles questions like this student’s question frequently. Here is the deal. Towson requires all degree-seeking students who will have 45 or more earned credits by the end of the semester to develop an individualized degree completion plan. Check your Student Center Holds box and if you see “Student Degree Plan Required” that means that spring 2017 is the semester when you must do this.
A Student Degree Plan is basically a map of what courses you will take semester/session by semester/session to reach and complete the goal of earning your bachelor’s degree at Towson. With informational resources available online for each major and minor at Towson, https://www.towson.edu/academics/undergraduate/majors/ and guidance from your academic advisor, you will put together your plan reflecting all of the requirements for graduation as well as addressing your personal goals for educational experiences such as study abroad, internships, service learning, etc. Take time to develop your plan carefully. Once your advisor approves your plan, he/she will remove the Student Degree Plan Required item from your account. You will have a valuable tool to help you navigate your remaining semesters at Towson!
