Backpacking in Grand Canyon National Park

Experience a Spring Break you will never forget in Grand Canyon National Park. Camp below the rim of the canyon, hike through beautifully sculpted slot canyons, and relax on the banks of the powerful Colorado River. Join Outdoor Adventures to have experiences few people ever get to enjoy.

Spend five days backpacking down into the canyon where each step will take you deeper into the two-billion-year geologic history of the Grand Canyon and then venture back out. No prior backpacking experience is necessary, but this trip will be physically demanding and participants should be in good physical condition and have a healthy appetite for adventure.

Trip cost includes all necessary equipment, food, instruction, permit and camping fees, and transportation during the trip starting from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Participants will be responsible for arranging airfare to and from Phoenix (approx. $350-550 round trip). Register between January 30 and February 27 at recreation.towson.edu for only $385.
