Students with Autism: Spring Semester Program with Financial Awards Available

The Hussman Center for Adults with Autism at Towson University offers a program specifically for undergraduate students with Autism.

This program supports success as a Towson University student by helping with challenges and using the student’s talents.   The program is individually designed to address each student’s goals.

This College Orientation & Life Activities (COLA) program includes weekly individual meetings with a staff member, weekly meeting(s) with a student peer mentor, and periodic group meetings.  Students may include work exploration activities to help prepare for a job after graduation.

Two levels of the COLA program are offered;  the programs have the same components, but different numbers of hours:

  • COLA Regular program:  $4000 per semester (in addition to other TU tuition and fees)
  • COLA Lite program:         $2500 per semester (in addition to other TU tuition and fees)

Note:  The COLA application process fee is $100 (paid separately from the program fee)

Financial Awards are available for up to 80 percent of the program cost of the Spring 2017 program. To be eligible for a Jill Fox Memorial Fund Financial Award for this program, the student must meet certain criteria, including being a Maryland resident, having an autism diagnosis, and having financial need.   Application forms are available upon request.

For further information about the COLA program and the Jill Fox Memorial Financial Award, contact Dr. Charlotte Exner at the Hussman Center for Adults with Autism at 410-704-4486 or hcaa@towson.edu
