Dr. Rory Smead, Associate Professor of Philosophy at Northeastern University, will present the Dr. Wing-Chun Wong Memorial Lecture entitled, “Out of Spite: How Harmful Behavior May Have Sowed the Seeds of Cooperation.” Dr. Smead’s research is currently focused on the evolution of social behavior, the connections between evolution and learning, applications of game theory to ethics, and philosophical issues surrounding the use of idealized mathematical models in the social and biological sciences. A reception follows this lecture in the LA Café.
