Brand Mark Mastery: What’s all this ‘Brand Mark’ stuff — Why don’t we just say LOGO?

A logo and brand mark are the same thing, really. In modern parlance, a ‘brand’ is the collective perception of how an individual feels about an organization. The TU logo, or brand mark, is meant to serve as a visual trigger to elicit people’s feelings about Towson University. When someone sees the brand mark, they may think about having seen it on event collateral materials, in advertising, or on a shirt their best friend wears. Every instance of the brand mark contributes to the Towson brand.

The brand mark standards help TU maintain and promote a strong visual brand for Towson University. Following the brand mark standards is the responsibility of anyone who uses the university logo. Keep checking T3 for periodic ‘Brand Mark Mastery’ tips throughout the year.
