Be one of the first U.S. students to visit Cuba as a newly opened country! Experience a unique opportunity to enjoy and learn from the vast range of cultural, educational, and community-based events that are at the core of this course which will involve one week in Cuba and one week here in the U.S.
As part of the program, students will get an inside look at urban schools in both Baltimore and Havana. They will experience classrooms, afterschool programs, and shadow community school coordinators. In Cuba, students will hear from experts in the school systems and have a unique opportunity to understand the hopes and challenges Cuba will face now that it is “opening up” to the US. This is an opportunity for students to gain a unique international perspective on urban education!
