If you missed the opportunity to elect or change benefits this year, open enrollment (OE) is the time for you! Changes to benefits or new enrollments can be made during OE and will be effective January 1, 2017.
If you are currently enrolled in benefits and do not want to make changes, all benefits will roll over to 2017 (except flexible spending accounts.)
The IRS requires all flexible spending account participants re-enroll in these plans every year. If you wish to continue these plan(s), be sure to make your elections for 2017 by the November 15 deadline.

Faculty and staff also have University System of Maryland life insurance and long-term disability benefit options from UNUM. The UNUM benefits are not part of the state of MD health benefits open enrollment.
