Interested in Studying Abroad in China next summer?
Please join Dr. Xiaoming Liu (Department of Elementary Education), Dr. Ashley Lucas (Department of Middle School & Secondary Education), and Liz Shearer (Director of Study Abroad Office) for an informational session on studying abroad in China in summer 2016.
This course, SCED 304 Education, Ethics and Change, fulfills the Core 14 requirement. Graduate students may register for ELED/SCED 594 and undergraduate students who have taken SCED 304, but would like to have abroad experience may register for ELED/SCED 494.
The entire course is three weeks with the first week online in the US. The actual traveling abroad time is from May 28, 2016 to June 11, 2016. In this course we will trace the intellectual history of Confucianism and Taoism and explore ethical and social justice issues from both Western and Eastern perspectives. The learning experience will be enhanced by school visits, shadowing education students, guest lectures, and cultural activities. Students will spend time in Qingdao, Qufu, and Beijing.
We will hold two informational sessions:
Monday, December 7th from 10:00-10:30am (Hawkins Hall 304B)
Tuesday, December 8th from 1:00-1:30pm (Hawkins Hall 304B)
