Benefits Bulletin: 2015 Open Enrollment – New Wellness Program Activities for Next Year

Every year during the health benefits open enrollment the state of Maryland Employee Benefits Division (EBD) publishes the wellness program activities for the following calendar year.  The wellness program applies to all faculty and staff and spouses enrolled in the medical plans – CareFirst, Kaiser Permanente, and United HealthCare.

The wellness program was created to improve the overall population health and to flatten the trend of increasing health care costs without shifting those costs to plan participants.  The program is voluntary, however, faculty and staff who participate in the wellness activities avoid health insurance premium surcharges and receive free primary care physician office visits!

Please consult pages four through seven of the 2016 Benefits Guide to learn about the 2016 wellness program activities.  You can also refer to the Wellness Program FAQ (PDF) from TU’s open enrollment website and visit EBD’s dedicated wellness website.
