Google Authentication Issues Affecting Student Email Access on iOS Devices

The Office of Technology Services (OTS) has discovered that students using iOS devices (i.e., iPods, iPhones, iPads) to connect to email may experience problems logging into their TU Webmail and other Google apps after a password change or an iOS upgrade.

This issue affects the Google Mail app, the built in iOS Mail app, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Calendar and Google Slides.

It is recommended that students wait to upgrade to iOS 9 until this issue is resolved.

For students experiencing this problem, or those who still wish to upgrade to iOS 9, it is possible to get to Google Mail, Calendar and Drive by going to http://webmail.towson.edu from Safari or another mobile browser.

OTS is working with Google to find a solution and will communicate with the campus when this issue is resolved. If you would like updates on this issue, submit a TechHelp service request or call Student Computing Services at 410-704-5151.
