If you do not have health insurance or if you have a costly plan with high deductibles, TU sponsors a great plan for eligible* students that is affordable and provides excellent coverage. The Aetna Student Health Plan protects you at school, home and while traveling abroad.
Sign up for the Aetna Student Health Plan by the open enrollment period deadline of October 1. If payment is received by the deadline, coverage is retroactive to the plan start date of 8/15/2015.
* Eligible students are undergrads taking 9 or more credits and grad students taking 6 or more credits or dissertation credit.
The plan costs $1,888.00 for the policy year (8/15/15 – 8/14/16) or $798.00 for the fall semester (coverage extends from 8/15/15 until 1/14/16) and if renewed during the spring semester the plan costs $1,092.00 (coverage extends from 1/15/16 – 8/14/16.) Enrollment Instructions:
- Go to { towson.edu/healthcenter} and click on Student Health Insurance or go directly to {www.aetnastudenthealth.com}
- Under Find Your School, type Towson University
- Click “Medical Plan: Enroll”
- Scroll down to “Enroll: Domestic Students”
Please note: All Towson University non-U.S. national students on F, J and other non-employment visas are automatically enrolled in the Towson University Student Health Insurance Plan as of 8/15/2015 unless they received an approved online waiver by September 15. Completed waivers must be submitted online for the first semester in attendance and every Fall Semester thereafter by the waiver deadline. (If your waiver is approved for the Fall Semester it will be approved for the Spring Semester. Please note only new students may request waivers for the spring semester.)
If your waiver is approved, the insurance charge will be removed from your student tuition account. Refunds of the insurance premium will not be made if you fail to submit an online waiver application by the deadline.
