Abstract: Fulbright Scholar-Teacher Experience in Burma/Myanmar, Spring 2014
The Fulbright program has recently followed U.S. diplomatic policy to begin placing Scholars in Burma/Myanmar. These placements come as the country opens to outside trade, investors, and relationships after nearly 50 years of international isolation. The long-time government control and isolation of the higher education system and the traditional culture impose restraints on the ability of institutional and foreign faculty to offer contemporary business education. However, the opening has released entrepreneurial energies of the students who offer great potential for future growth if allowed to do so by the government.
