Nicole Fabricant (Sociology, Anthropology & Criminal Justice) and a colleague from UCSD received a grant from the Wenner-Gren Foundation in Anthropological Research to help support an international conference entitled “Politics in the Time of ‘Post Politics’: Rethinking Anthropology’s Conception of the Political for the 21st Century.” This conference will bring scholars together from distinct regions across the globe to think about political anthropology in the 21st century.

Sharon Glennen (Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology & Deaf Studies) published two articles in separate journals. The first was titled “Speech and language outcomes after international adoption” and appeared in Adoption Medicine: Caring for Children and Families; the second was titled “A longitudinal study of language and speech in children who were internationally adopted at different ages,” which was included in the April issue of the journal Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools.
Christina Yeager-Pelatti (Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology & Deaf Studies) was listed as the first author in a publication titled “Language- and literacy-learning opportunities in early childhood classrooms: Children’s typical experiences and within-classroom variability,” which appeared in the journal Early Childhood Research Quarterly.
