As part of its outreach efforts during hurricane season, the Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) encourages all Marylanders to understand what their insurance policies cover and take steps to protect themselves in the event of a disaster. The MIA has published An Insurance Preparedness Guide for Natural Disaster which has information about types of coverage, claim scenarios, important contacts and tips and reminders.
