Departmental Visitor Code Expiration & Renewal Notice

This is a reminder that departmental visitor codes issued for use during the 2013/2014 academic year will expire on June 30, 2014.  After June 30, the issued departmental visitor codes will no longer be valid for use at any of the pay stations.  As in the past, visitor codes are only valid for one year, July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. All codes used during this time will be billed to your FY14 budget in July.

Please be advised that if you would like new FY15 departmental visitor codes to be available to you by July 1, 2014, you must submit your Departmental Guest Code Request Form online on or before the close of business on Tuesday, June 17, 2014.  If at any time throughout the year you need additional departmental visitor codes, you must request them by completing and submitting another “Departmental Guest Code Request Form”. Departmental Guest Code Request forms will be processed within five business days.  As a note, you should request the number of codes based on the number of guests your department expects to have over the entire next academic year; however, a minimum of 10 codes must be requested.  Please note the department is only charged for the codes that are actually used.

As a reminder:

  • A valid parking permit is required to park anywhere on campus Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Fridays from  6 a.m. – 3 p.m., including over breaks and in the summer.
  • Before 3 p.m., Visitor permits obtained with a departmental code are only valid in designated Visitor, Departmental Guest, and Overflow areas of the University’s garages and parking lots.  After 3 p.m., Visitor permits obtained with a departmental code may also be used in Commuter areas in the Glen, Towsontown, and Union Garages.
  • Activities that will have 10 or more vehicles at any one time are considered events and must be coordinated through the submission of an Event Request Form.  Department visitor codes may not be used for groups of 10 or more.
  • In order to help ensure the availability of parking for departmental guests, all visitor locations will have some spaces restricted for individuals who have a visitor permit purchased via a department code.
  • A guest is defined as an individual who is not associated with the campus and is attending a meeting or is a guest lecturer. Individuals who are taking classes or being compensated (receiving a pay check or being given credit) for their work on the campus are not considered visitors and may not be issued or use a guest/visitor code.
