Info request for all two-way radio users

Two-way radios are used by various university departments for communications within the department and even between departments.  Two-way radios radios are characterized by “press-to-talk” and “release-to-listen” operation.  Due to a Federal Communication Commission (FCC) mandate, the university needs to inventory and possibly modify some two-way radios used on campus.  As such the Office of Public Safety is requesting that all departments report if they operate two-way radio equipment.

 

We ask that each departments respond with the following information by December 19, 2013:

  • Department contact information
  • Does two-way radio use in this department communicate with other University departments
  • Radio make(s), model number(s) and quantities of each
  • Frequencies of operation
  • FCC license (call sign) or lease company information
