Departmental Visitor Code Renewal Notice

This is a reminder that visitor codes issued for use this academic year will expire June 30, 2013, at which point they will no longer be valid for use at pay stations. Codes used through June 30, 2013 will be billed to your FY13 budget.
As in the past, renewal codes will be valid for one year: July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. All codes used during this time will be billed in July 2014 and applied against your FY14 budget.

The number of codes requested should be based on the number of guests the department expects to have over the next year. Additional codes may be requested throughout the year using the visitor code request form available at http://www.towson.edu/adminfinance/auxservices/parking/forms/deptcode.asp

Important Parking Information

  • A valid parking permit is required to park anywhere on campus 6 a.m. through 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. through 3 p.m. Fridays, including over breaks and the summer.
  • Activities that will have 10+ vehicles at any one time are considered events and must be coordinated through the submission of an Event Request Form.  Department visitor codes may NOT be used for groups of 10 or more.
  • Current visitor codes will not be valid after June 30, 2013.
  • Visitor permits are only valid in designated visitor lots during peak hours or anytime in “Overflow” areas located in designated areas at the Towson Center and West Village garage. After 3 p.m. visitor permits may also be used in commuter areas in the Glen, Towsontown and Union Garages.
  • In order to help ensure the availability of parking for departmental guests, all visitor locations will have some spaces restricted for individuals who have a visitor permit purchased via a department code.  In order to help ensure a pleasant visit for your guests, departments are strongly encouraged to provide their visitors with a code which will allow them access to the restricted visitor spaces.
  • A guest is defined as an individual who is not associated with the campus and is attending a meeting or is a guest lecturer. Individuals who are students taking classes or being compensated (receiving a pay check or being given credit) for their work on the campus are not considered visitors and may not be issued or use a guest/visitor code.
