Towson University Staff Council (TUSC) is looking for staff members to join the council to represent your colleagues in the decision making process regarding issues that will impact the University as a whole and affect staff and staff concerns on campus and throughout the University System.
TUSC represents the interests of all staff, all categories, all departments, exempt and non-exempt, contingent, full-time and part-time. The council was formed in 1993 by the President to serve as an advisory board to the President’s Staff on non-faculty matters. TUSC offers all staff the opportunity to express concerns and ideas on important matters. TUSC’s primary function and goal is to be the voice of staff on campus. TUSC is an active participant in the university shared governance approach to leadership. Shared governance refers to appropriately shared responsibility and cooperative action among the components of the institution for decision making and policy creation. TUSC is a participant on several committees and task forces. The staff council is a contributor on the Staff Development Task Force, Research Planning and Advisory Committee, the University Senate, The Diversity Task Force against Bias, Discrimination, and Bullying and numerous other leadership initiatives.
If you believe that having a recognized voice on campus is important, please consider taking a moment to nominate yourself or a colleague to be a part of an organization that directly influences polices affecting staff. We are holding open nominations beginning on Friday, March 1 through Friday, March 22. To nominate yourself or someone else, please visit the link below.
