Staff Kudos

Bernie Gerst, Chief of TUPD and Associate Vice President of the Office of Public Safety, was honored by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Maryland Chapter, on Jan. 16.  Here are the words they used:

I’d like to recognize our volunteer of the year.  This volunteer attended nearly every event we hosted—in the cold rain and even blistering heat–from “Light the Night” to “Regatta” and multiple TNT events and our ride for Leukemia.  He is a current member of the Maryland Chapter Board of Trustees, a past chapter President, and has served on countless event committees.  He is also a past TNT and “Light the Night” participant who has been involved with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for close to two decades.  This person optimizes service to community and has given so much to the society that our staff is forever in debt for his generosity, kind spirit, and for never saying no.  Please join me in recognizing  Bernie Gerst.
