A big thank you to the staff who made donations at the TUSC Annual Staff Development Conference. Some of you mentioned that you forgot to bring your donation and asked if there would be another opportunity to give. Well, there is! During the week of October 17, please drop off or send via campus mail, your hats, gloves and scarves. They will be added to the collection going directly to help the children in need in Baltimore.
Send to: Mike Noll, Office of Human Resources, AD 115
More Information
In conjunction with the 2011 conference, we partnered with Operation Warm so that children right here in Baltimore would not be among the millions of children in the country without a winter coat this year.
Operation Warm inspires hope and empowers communities by manufacturing and distributing new winter coats to children in need. We all deserve to be warm, but today families are struggling with tough choices and limited resources. Necessity dictates that food and shelter take precedence over clothing, but children without coats are often absent from school in the winter. Their mission is to provide new winter coats to children in need through partnership with donors and community organizations like us.
– Send over new hats, gloves and scarves so that they can be paired with the new winter coats that will be distributed in Baltimore. Handmade/knit items will be accepted too.
– Make a donation so that they are able to raise money towards the costs of the coats. Currently it costs $20 to provide a child with the gift of a new winter coat. Please go to the website for information about sending a donation.
