The state?s prescription drug plan is now being managed by Express Scripts instead of CatalystRx. This mid-year change has taken place as a result of the State Board of Public Works decision in February 2012 to award the state?s pharmacy contract to Express Scripts.
Express Scripts has mailed out membership materials including new ID cards to all participants with current state prescription drug coverage. Those mailings went to the home addresses of participants based on the information in the State of Maryland Department of Budget and Management?s Employee Benefits Division (DBM) database. Any participant who has not yet received their membership materials and ID cards should contact DBM?s Customer Service Unit at 410-767-4775.
While there are no changes to the structure of the prescription plan (e.g. co pays will remain the same and the out of pocket maximums of $1000 per member/$1500 per family for active employees and $1500 individual/$2,000 per family for retirees, will continue to be tracked through the end of this plan year), participants who had been using Walgreens will have to transfer their active prescriptions to a different pharmacy since Walgreens pulled out of the Express Scripts network late in 2011.
Specific questions relating to your prescription drug coverage should be directed to Express Scripts? Patient Customer Service at 1-877-213-3867.
