Departmental Visitor Code Renewal Notice

This is a reminder that visitor codes issued for use this academic year will expire June 30, 2012, at which point they will no longer be valid for use at pay stations. If you have guests coming to campus after June 30, please ensure you have requested new codes and issue them a code that is valid for the next fiscal year. Codes used through June 30, 2012 will be billed to your FY12 budget.

As in the past, renewal codes will be valid for one year: July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013. All codes used during this time will be billed in July 2013 and applied against your FY13 budget.

The number of codes requested should be based on the number of guests the department expects to have over the next year. Please complete a visitor code form to request new or additional codes at {http://www.towson.edu/adminfinance/auxservices/parking/forms/deptcode.asp}. Please allow at least 10 days to process renewal codes.

Important Parking Information

– A valid parking permit is required to park anywhere on campus 6 a.m. through 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. through 3 p.m. Fridays, including over breaks and the summer.
– Activities that will have 10+ vehicles at any one time are considered events and must be coordinated through the submission of an Event Request Form. Department visitor codes may not be used for groups of 10 or more.
– Current visitor codes will not be valid after June 30, 2012.
– Visitor permits are only valid in designated visitor lots during peak hours. After 3 p.m. visitor permits may be used in commuter areas in the Glen, Towsontown and Union Garages as well as Towson Center lots and designated levels of the West Village garage where signs indicate ALL permits are valid.
– In order to help ensure the availability of parking for departmental guests, all visitor locations will have some spaces restricted for individuals who have a visitor permit purchased via a department code.
– A guest is defined as an individual who is NOT associated with the campus and is attending a meeting or is a guest lecturer. Individuals who are taking classes or being compensated (receiving a pay check or being given credit) for their work on the campus are not considered visitors and may NOT be issued or use a guest/visitor code. Individuals using a visitor code who don?t qualify as a visitor are subject to a $300 fine and towing. Please don?t put Faculty/Staff or students in this position by issuing them a visitor code.
