Outlook Web Access ({http://outlook.towson.edu}) will be upgraded the week of October 3. The new Outlook Web Access will feature an improved interface which looks and behaves more like the Outlook 2003 client on most campus systems.
In order to perform the upgrade, each faculty and staff mailbox must be upgraded individually. Each night beginning Monday, October 3, between approximately 6 p.m. and 11:59 p.m., a random selection of mailboxes will be upgraded. While your mailbox is being upgraded, you will be unable to access it for approximately 15 – 30 minutes. If you encounter a problem opening your mailbox, simply wait 30 minutes and try again.
More detailed information is available here: {http://wwwnew.towson.edu/adminfinance/ots/coretechsecurity/emailexch2003.asp}. (Note to Macintosh users: You may need to make a minor change in order to access your mailbox after the migration. Please read the last bullet point on the Web page above to see if you are affected.)
When opening the new Outlook Web Access using Internet Explorer, you will have the ability to:
– Configure basic rules
– Work with tasks
– See message lists in new views
– Configure display settings and read receipt options
– Drag-and-drop messages
– Be alerted when new mail has arrived
– Work with message flags
