Goucher College Call for Papers: Conference on Academic Technology Tuesday, May 17, 2005

Goucher College?s Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology is pleased to invite submissions for a variety of hour-long presentations related to the integration of academic technologies into higher education. It invites proposals that address any of the following themes, or related themes:

◦ What are the latest technology trends and gadgets our students are using? What Web sites are they visiting and what are they doing there?
◦ How do students use technology to engage in academic work?
◦ The dark side: how can technology enable or even encourage academic dishonesty, and what can we do about it?
◦ ?Technology Fluency? for faculty: What do we need to know and how do we do it?
◦ How does a course undergo a transformation through academic technology? What are the possible outcomes?
◦ How can we apply distance education pedagogy in a face-to-face or mixed (hybrid) course setting?
◦ How can we use technology to bridge the gap between extra-curricular activities and academics? Can technology bring about a living-learning environment?

Proposals should be approximately 200 words in length and should include the names and contact information for all presenters. Proposals are due on Sunday, March 20 and notification of accepted proposals will be made by Wednesday, March 30. Please e-mail your proposal as a Microsoft Word or text document to {ctlt@goucher.edu} with the words ?conference proposal? in the subject line. Alternately, you may send your printed abstract to Conference on Academic Technology, Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology, Goucher College, 1021 Dulaney Valley Road, Towson, MD 21204.
