November Classes Offered by CANS Technology Training

Pair your preparation for the holidays with one of these technology training classes offered in November:

WORD CLASSES

Take the Fundamentals class to learn time-saving shortcuts for navigation and text selection, how to move and copy text, how to set up your document for printing and more. Also learn about some of the automatic features. If you would like to make your letters look professional, the Formatting class is for you. Learn formatting tips, how to set tabs and indent, how to apply borders and shading and creating headers and footers. The Tables and Merging class involves incorporating tables into your files. Also learn to merge information from a table into form letters or mailing labels for bulk mailing.

Tables and Merging – Tuesday, Nov. 18, 9a.m. – Noon (Prerequisite: Word fundamentals)

ACCESS CLASSES

In the Overview class you will create tables, queries, forms and reports. This single day course is designed to briefly introduce you to databases. In the Tables and Relationships class learn the basics of table design. Since tables are the building blocks of a database, customizing and managing them is an important skill to know. If you would like to create simple, action and parameter queries from scratch, the Targeting Data with Queries class is for you. Queries help to unleash the power of your database by answering questions about your data and creating calculations. In Data Entry with Forms, find out how easy it is to create simple forms that make data entry a breeze.

Additional Access classes will be offered in December.

PDA INFORMATION

In the A Look at Personal Digital Assistants information session, view a demo of PDAs and try one out for yourself. Learn about synchronizing and how various PDAs compare. Academic Uses of PDAs uncovers some of the ways PDAs are applied in academic settings. This session will point out specific PDA software in addition to providing a general discussion.
