Financial Services is offering a workshop on Unrelated Business Income Tax (UBIT).
The UBIT course, scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 30 from 9 to 11 a.m. in room 120 of the Administration Bldg, will supply participants with a basic understanding of what constitutes unrelated business income. Topics that will be covered include: what activities can be classified as a trade or business, the difference between tax exempt and taxable income in the university setting, how the mission of the school affects classification of income, and the exclusions of income that are allowed under the UBIT definition.
