Financial Services October Seminars & Workshops

Financial Services will offer 5 workshops in October:

Accounts Payable: On Wednesday, Oct. 4 from 2 – 4 p.m. the fall session of the very popular Accounts Payable Seminar will be offered in training room 120 of the Administration Building. Be sure to register early for this one. Learn about your payment options and spending authority; learn how to prepare invoices and vouchers for payment; learn what types of purchases are restricted; learn how to process special payments such as consultant and reimbursement requests; and learn the basics of reading the FRS screens and reports related to Accounts Payable transactions.

Business Travel and Working Fund Workshop: On Monday, Oct. 9 from 9 – 11 a.m. everything you ever wanted to know about business travel will be presented in training room 120 of the Administration Building. This is an all-inclusive seminar that will walk you through the entire process including planning the trip, choosing payment options, completing the online forms and obtaining reimbursement.

Student Employment Workshop: On Monday, Oct. 23 from 9 a.m.-noon, the Payroll Office will sponsor a Student Employment Workshop in room 120 of the Administration Building. Come join the representatives from Payroll, the Career Center, Human Resources, International Students, and Financial Aid to learn about the entire student employment process. Topics covered will include Web timesheets, the student clearance process, and all the various forms, including the Quick Change Form used for pay raises, approval group changes, and terminations.

FRS State Budget Review: On Thursday, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m.-noon in Administration Building room 120, the FRS Team will focus on helping you get to the “bottom line” whether you are reading the monthly reports or reviewing your budget information online. Come learn how to find up-to-the-minute information on budget balances, open commitments, invoice payments, expenditure subcodes, interdepartmental invoices and more!

FRS Self Support Budget Review: On Monday, Oct. 23 from 1 – 4 p.m. in Administration Building room 120, the FRS Team will do it all over again – only this time the focus will be on Self-Support budgets.
