During the month of October there is a Special Enrollment Period for all eligible faculty and staff members who have not previously been denied coverage with the University System of Maryland?s Long Term Disability Income Protection insurance program. During this time, eligible faculty and staff members will be able to enroll in the UnumProvident LTD plan without providing medical evidence of insurability.
A representative from UnumProvident will be available on Wednesday, October 20 at 10:30am and 1:30pm in the Potomac Lounge in the University Union to present details of the program and answer questions. A summary of the LTD plan is also available at

Enrollment materials are also available upon request from the Office of Human Resources Benefits Unit.
