Sheryl Burgstahler, Ph.D. at the University of Washington believes that ensuring that online education is fully accessible presents a major challenge for faculty and staff in higher education. She continues to say that faculty members teaching online courses often find themselves unsure about the best way to help students who have identified accessibility problems in their courses. Additionally, many disability support providers are ill-equipped to resolve these problems, and may pass them on to academic computing staff, who struggle to integrate them into their regular work. Dr. Burgstahler proposes that faculty and staff work together to successfully address accessibility problems in the online environment.

This teleconference will be held in the Administration Building, Room 120, on Thursday, April 22 from 2:30pm-4:00pm.
