Tiger Faculty Fellows Program
The Towson University Athletic Department is committed to assisting student-athletes with their growth as a student, an athlete and as a person. In order to assist in this commitment we would like to develop a ?Faculty Friends Program.? This new and exciting program would expand opportunities for students to learn and be mentored by professors outside of the classroom by connecting athletic teams with faculty members interested in their sport. It is our hope that the discussion and interaction that takes place will lead to greater student-athlete success at Towson University.
Benefits for the Faculty Friends:
? Help make a positive impact in the overall academic experience of student-athletes
? Cultivate friendships with student-athletes and coaches
? Watch Towson athletic contests ?up-close and personal? from the sidelines
? Enjoy many of the benefits of being a part of a collegiate athletic team
? Invited to team functions, banquets, dinners and selected athletic department functions
Benefits for the Student-Athletes and Coaches:
? Provides a valuable resource for academic concerns, questions, advice and support
? Provides assistance in helping freshmen make the transition from high school to college
? Helps to develop a more personal relationship with a faculty member, which may lead to internship/job referrals, recommendations, etc.
? Assists with the recruiting process, enabling prospects to meet with or address questions to a faculty member
The Faculty Friends Program is designed to provide positive and memorable experiences for both the students and faculty members involved.
