Womanstories and Counter-Narratives: Late Middle-Aged Women Describe Their Life Contributions

The Institute for Teaching and Research on Women invites you to attend Dr. Pamela Young’s “Womanstories and Counter-Narratives: Late Middle-Aged Women Describe Their Life Contributions.” The presentation will be held in rooms 309-310 of the University Union, Tuesday April 11th, from 12:30 to 2:00pm. All are invited. Lunch will be provided.

Dr. Young’s research is a narrative study that uses a feminist dialogic perspective to determine how women aged 55-65 define their contributions to their worlds. The study reveals how women struggle to make their contributions despite obstacles. This presentation uses excerpts from interview tapes to demonstrate women’s narrative in their own voices.

Pamela Young holds a Ph.D. in Human Development from the Fielding Graduate University and is presently Director of Community Initiatives for LifeBridge Health System at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.

Registration required, no fee for attendance.
To register, please contact Rebecca Julian at {rjulian@towson.edu} by April 5th.
