Assessment Workshop: Student Self-Reflection as a Tool for Learning & Development

Thursday, October 14, 2004, 2:00-3:15 p.m., Cook Library 411

Conducted by:
David Bergman, English
2003 Assessment Fellow Donna Cox, Health Science
Tom Kruggel, Psychology
2003 Assessment Fellow Sharon Pitcher, Reading
Linda Suskie, Assessment Office

Asking students to reflect on what–and how–they have learned is a terrific way to help them synthesize their learning and “see the big picture.” It’s also a great way to assess the “fuzzy” goals of our courses and programs: developing creative thinking skills, positive attitudes, a lasting appreciation of our subject, and the like. Learn how your colleagues across the university have used student self-reflection as an effective strategy for learning and assessment. Complementary beverages and cookies will be provided!
