Join independent scholar, writer, and historian of sexuality Hanne Blank, currently at work on a history of virginity for Bloomsbury USA, and a former instructor at Brandeis and Tufts Universities, for a humanities/social science-friendly introduction to using the medical literature for intellectual fun, scholarly work, and in their courses. Topics to be addressed include: the ten most useful reference sources, interpreting terminology, coping with statistics, acquiring ?small systems? understandings of medicine and the body, and understanding the unique nature of the dance between medical theory and medical practice.
