Historically, the University has permitted a more relaxed attire beginning Memorial Day through Labor Day. Effective immediately, “Business Casual” will be instituted and will end on September 4, 2004. Please keep in mind that personal appearances and attire is equally as important as the cleanliness and appearance of our facilities. Therefore, it is important that work attire be appropriate to our educational and business environment.
Acceptable business casual attire for men shall include collared shirts without a tie, the substitution of a polo shirt for a dress shirt, and dress slacks. Acceptable business casual attire for women shall include casual blouses, skirts, pants, and dresses.
Unacceptable attire includes jeans (any type), shorts, sweat pants, sweat suits, non-collared shirts, tee shirts, or athletic shoes.
Additionally, it may be necessary to modify one’s dress based on scheduled meetings or commitments that involve meeting with the general public or outside contacts in the course of conducting university business. Questions concerning dress should be directed to your vice president.
