SOFTWARE TIP OF THE WEEK

Outlook 2003/2007 ? Color Coding Inbox Messages

You may color code Inbox messages easily to help you find emails from important senders, such as your boss or spouse. This helps you identify those messages quickly.

1. Click the Inbox.
2. Click an existing message from the sender whose messages you want to color code.
3. Click Tools and select Organize. Above your inbox, the Ways to Organize Inbox pane will appear.
4. On the left of the pane, select Using Colors.
5. After Color messages, click the down arrow and select from (from the dropdown box).
6. In the text box next to the dropdown, you will see the name of the desired sender you selected from the inbox.
7. Click the down arrow beside in and select the desired color from the dropdown box.
8. Click the Apply Color button. All messages in your inbox from that sender will be color?coded.
9. Repeat the above steps for each sender whose messages you wish to color-code. When finished, close the Ways to Organize Inbox pane by clicking the x in the upper right corner of the pane.
