Parking and Transportation Services is currently implementing the physical changes associated with new parking policies. As part of these changes, we would like to alert staff members working in the Administration Building of the following:
? The front lot of the administration building (where the Wellness Center and visitor spaces are currently located) will be converted into a general visitor lot. A pay station will be installed at the front of the lot for visitors to obtain permits. Additional information regarding visitor parking and procedures will be distributed at a later time.
? Parking control gates are being installed in lot 23 (the central Administration Building lot) and are scheduled to be activated August 20. Lot 24 across from St. Joe?s will remain un-gated, but be reserved for faculty/staff permits between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.
? All staff members who wish to park in lot 23 must have an access device in order to get through the gates. Anyone who already has a gate card for use at other locations on campus may use the same gate card to access lot 23. Individuals who do not currently have a gate card may choose from the following options:
1. Staff may purchase a gate card for $20. This card grants access to all gated lots on campus.
2. Staff may purchase a Sirit AVI tag for $20. This tag will work in conjunction with the new Automated Vehicle Identification (AVI) technology being installed on lot 23 gates. With this technology, the gate will automatically open as Sirit-equipped vehicles approach. There is no need to insert a card into the reader. At this point, the AVI equipment is ONLY available at lot 23 and will not work in any other campus gated lots.
3. Staff not wishing to purchase a gate card or an AVI tag may park in ungated Faculty/Staff areas in lot 24 or the Glenn garage.
Gate and Sirit cards may be purchased from the Auxiliary Services business office located in the University Union.
