Conserve Energy During Winter Break

Campus energy usage often skyrockets during the cold winter months, but you have the power to change it. Do your part to help reduce energy consumption and lower energy costs during winter break.

As you leave your workspace for break, turn off and unplug all non-critical equipment and devices, including your coffeemaker, electronic device chargers and office lights. Log off of office computers but leave them on to allow for software updates during the break. The university?s power management software will reduce the computers? energy consumption while they are not being used.

We will follow our usual practice of significantly reducing indoor building temperatures wherever possible during the break. Exceptions have been made for certain facilities, for example, animal care facilities, the TU Police Department, and buildings in which scheduled events will take place.

Thank you for conserving energy. For more information, go to {http://www.towson.edu/energy} or contact Dennis Bohlayer at x4-3392. Best wishes for an enjoyable break!
