Gloria Holland?s Passing

It is with great sadness that we inform the campus community that Dr. Gloria Holland passed away Friday, September 16. Before her retirement, Gloria was the Executive Director of Technology Support Services in TU?s Office of Technology Services. In this position, she served as the interface between the TU community and technology applications and support, including the Center for Instructional Advancement and Technology, Student Computing Services, Technology Training, Classroom Technology and Field Services.

With more than 27 years? experience in designing and developing education programs for classroom and online delivery, Dr. Holland designed instructional programs for the South African Leadership Development Office, Fairleigh Dickinson, George Washington and Towson Universities as well as the Surgeon General’s Office and the Department of Defense. She held advanced degrees in Adult Education, Instructional Systems Development and Leadership and was awarded NSU’s 1997 Distinguished Research Award. Gloria was an invited presenter at national and international conferences.

Gloria?s family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, October 1 at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services. A memorial service will immediately follow. Interment private. For additional information, see Gloria?s obituary below.

On September 16, 2011, GLORIA ANN (PALUMBO) HOLLAND, of Glen Burnie, cherished mother of Ann-Marie and Catherine Ellen Holland; loving sister of James Anthony Palumbo and Maria Antoinette Wendt. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Michael Palumbo. The family will receive visitors at the family-owned Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, 1 2nd Avenue S.W. (at Crain Highway), Glen Burnie, on Saturday, October 1st, from 11AM to 12PM, with a memorial service to immediately follow. Interment private.
