Show Appreciation to your Student Employees during NSEW!!!

Did you know that colleges and universities around the United States will be celebrating National Student Employment Week from April 9th -15th ? Join in the celebration and do something special with your student employees throughout the duration of next week. Here are some ways to recognize your students:

? Treat Day ?Staff can bring in sweet treats for student employees
? Take pictures ? Post pictures of your student employees in your office or Facebook page and list what wonderful things they do
? ?Silly Awards? – Buy low-cost, blank certificates and make up silly awards for your work-study students, for example ?Best Telephone Voice?, ?Best Web-Surfer?, etc.
? Friendship Plants ? Take cuttings from a plant in the office and give to each student as a live ?connection? to the office
? Good Egg Award ? Buy plastic Easter eggs, fill with goodies and give out with ?Good Egg? certificates. List what the student did to deserve this award
? Organize a Potluck
? Pat on the Back ? Draw an outline of your hand on a piece of paper. Photocopy enough copies for all students in your office. On each hand write a note that tells the student why they deserve a ?Pat on the Back?
? Decorate an office bulletin board or the office door for the week in recognition of your students
? Goody Bags – Purchase gift bags and fill them with sweet treats and individual notes of encouragement and thanks from the staff
? Ice Cream Sundae Bar – Purchase ice cream with all the fixings to create a custom sundae bar/Buffet
? Gift Cards Award students small tokens of appreciation, such as gift cards to local restaurants, shops and attractions

The options are endless but the most important thing you can say is ?THANK YOU? to your student employee(s) for their contributions to your office/department.
