The annual Towson University Student Employee of the Year program is officially underway. If you have a student employee who has made a valuable contribution to your department, the Student Employment Program in the Career Center is offering you the opportunity to honor him or her by nominating them to represent TU as the 2004 Student Employee of the Year!
Each nominee will be recognized at an informal reception and award ceremony in April, and presented with a certificate of appreciation for his or her contribution to Towson University as a student employee. The top five students will receive scholarships ranging from $400 to $1,200. As sponsored by the Northeast Association of Student Employment Administrators (NEASEA) the winning student will be nominated at state and possibly regional levels.
Employers may nominate any student who has been working on-campus for at least six months, between June 1, 2003 and May 31, 2004. Nominees are selected based on reliability, quality of work, initiative, disposition, and contribution to employer. Successful entries require specific examples describing these qualities.
To nominate your student employee(s), you simply need to complete a nomination form and return it to Student Employment, The Career Center, 7800 York Road on or before Monday, March 1, 2004. To request a nomination form, e-mail Robyn Russell at {rrussell@towson.edu}.
We know that our student employees are a key element in the successful operation of our university and we are anxious to acknowledge their efforts and contributions!
