The Service-Learning Faculty Fellows program provides support for TU faculty interested in creating a new service-learning course or incorporating a new, significant service-learning component into an existing course. Service-Learning Faculty Fellows meet on a monthly basis to develop and then implement service-learning courses. Faculty who are new to service-learning will have an opportunity to learn from more experienced faculty as well as others in the Faculty Fellows cohort. Selected Faculty Fellows will be awarded a $1,000 stipend.
There is currently a call for proposals for the period Fall 2011?Summer 2012. All TU faculty members in any discipline are eligible to apply. No experience in teaching or creating a service-learning course is needed to apply.
Please visit {http://www.towson.edu/studentaffairs/civicengagement/serviceLearning/faculty/fellows.asp} for more information including proposal guidelines. Please email proposals, with appropriate attachments, to Katelyn Victor at {kvictor@towson.edu} by Friday April 22, 2011. Awardees will be notified by Spring Commencement.
This program is sponsored by the Service-Learning Subcommittee of the Civic Engagement Advisory Board and the Department of Civic Engagement.
