Honors College Seminar Proposals

The Honors College invites faculty to propose honors seminars for Fall 2008 and Spring 2009. These seminars should be one-semester courses (typically 3 units) and designed to enable students and faculty to examine areas that are not usually part of regular departmental offerings. Honors College seminars should be rigorous and allow for in-depth study of fundamental issues, ideas, topics, or problems that are writing-intensive. These seminars should support increasingly independent learning as well as application of disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge and methods to the larger academic, local, national, or global community.

The Honors College will award the Faculty member, as reimbursement, $1,000 to be used for State-allowable professional development expenses such as travel, subscriptions, and supplies throughout the fiscal year when the course proposal is approved and the syllabus is first developed. Proposals are due to the Honors College by January 4, 2008 (see our website for additional information {www.towson.edu/honors}).
