Quality Matters: Training to Improve Online Course Design

Text to link to:
Through the efforts of the University System of Maryland Pedagogy Group, a series of workshops related to the Quality Matters program is being offered. Quality Matters started from a FIPSE grant awarded to Maryland Online to “develop a research-based set of standards (or rubric) for the design of online courses and a peer reviewed, continuous improvement process for evaluating whether courses meet these standards.” The purpose of these workshops is to provide faculty with helpful training and tools for the design and assessment of online courses.
The Quality Matters standards are an excellent tool for designing, improving, and reviewing online courses. This tool is the basis for four workshops being offered in January and March. Registration for these workshops is free. The January 12, 2006 Quality Matters peer reviewer training workshop is being held at Towson and includes lunch.
