The Office of Technology Services will enable a new spam-filtering system July 14. Faculty and staff may have already noticed a decrease in spam over the last couple of months during which one of the features of this system has been enabled.
The new system will provide improved filtering of spam and phishing messages, as well as a new ?Spam Quarantine.? Faculty and staff will have access to their own Spam Quarantine to review any messages quarantined as ?possible? spam; individuals may begin seeing a ?Spam Quarantine Notification? message in their mailbox on particular mornings if any of their e-mail is quarantined. In addition, there is a new feature which allows sender addresses to be added to a personal safelist and blocklist.
Complete instructions on using the Spam Quarantine and safelist/blocklist are available in the ?Spam Quarantine, Outlook 2007? OTS Training Self-Help document available at {http://www.towson.edu/adminfinance/ots/trainingdoc/shr29-mso2007.asp}
